Default Attaching Remote to Steering Wheel

I have a 20 gb ipod in my Sequoia and I've been trying to figure some new mods for it and I came up with one that just might work. I have the Ipod Remote and I was thinking of attaching it in the left section of the steering wheel, between the 2 bars (where the radio controls would be for those that have them) and I'd attach it to the side of it via strap of some sort. My only problem would be is when I would have to run the wires underneath the steering wheel column all the way to the center console by the cup holders. I mean running the wires would be easy, just the main problem is in the steering wheel column because I don't know how to or how much extra wiring will be needed alone in the column because I would need enough to allow full turn of the wheel on both sides. How are the other wires setup like the cruise control/wiper/turn signal bars? Any ideas?

ps: Of course I am not going to temper with the airbag or any of its wirings.

I have never used this before, but it looks like it just might be a solution depending on where you keep the ipod. Just an idea, I dont know if it would work or not.
