Default Can anyone diagnose whats wrong with the radio swap?

I have an 04 DC with the DJ option. Window sticker says DIX 3-1 JBL radio. Single amfm/single cd/tape player. I'm pretty certain this is the digital system that contains the amp on the back wall of the cab. I recently got an 04 Sequoia JBL 6 disc radio. I know that this is a digital system as well. I swapped out the radios tonight, and I couldn't get the 6 disc radio to play. I swapped the plugs 1 for 1. The radio powered up, tuned into stations, even displayed station info. Everything worked, except that there was no sound anywhere. I didn't try to play any cd's but I would imagine there would be no sound there as well. Does anybody know if I would need to swap out the amps from an 04 sequoia as well? It was my understanding that the amps were tuned for the particular vehicle, but would be otherwise interchangable. If I need to swap amps, does anybody know which amp would go with an 86120-0c120 radio? I woul really like to make this swap out work. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Most of the single disk cd players have an INTERNAL AMP.
When you swap out to a 6 disk you have to ADD a EXTERNAL AMP.
DId your original system have 6 or 8 speakers?

Default Re: Can anyone diagnose whats wrong with the radio swap?

I have a JBL unit with the number of AD6805 parts, whose parts number is 86120-08120. Anyone could please tell me all other compatible model numbers with this one? I am considering other cd players, mp3, dvd or cd changers to replace it and I hope I can just plug and play. So anyone can give me a list of the equipment that can replace mine? Thanks.
