Lightbulb Stereo Installation

I am looking at putting an in dash dvd player and a seperate CD/MP3 as well in dash. I have seen numerous installation kits for after market sound systems for the dash, but none seem to have dual unit capabilities. I have seen a few pictures on here with dual units in the dash. What type of install kit was used?

Another alternative would be to put the DVD in the lower storage compartment under the dash infront of the 4WD shifter. (all it does now is hold an empty sun glass case and spare change) Is there a kit for that? Or is that a custom build? Any suggestions on a custom build? I saw one pic on the forum and that gave me the idea.

I am getting this DVD player from a friend who needs the cash, he has a 5 inch monitor and a 7 inch as well. They come with swivel mounts or can be placed in head rests. Any suggestions on where to place two seperate sized monitors?

I really love my Sequoia and I am getting ready to put some added value in the sound/video system, maybe do some customized speaker enclosers in the back side panels. (I guess I have been watching Pimp my ride and monster garage too much). Any suggestions are appreciated. I have examined the forum thoroughly, there are some nice Sequoias on here and allot of good ideas.

Thanks for you ideas and imput!

Default stereo install

Metra makes a kit for the radio replacement but it is din (standard) size with pocket. The radio opening is wider than a din opening but there are standard toyota din backets inside holding the radio in, the factory radio just gets wider at the front. You could iso (mount with factory brackets and side screws) mount 2 din size units very securely you would just have to custom make a trim ring to cover up the small gaps between the 2 pieces and the sides of the dash trim. You may be able to use a dash kit and cut the face off and modify that for this purpose. The lower storage compartment by the shifter dosnt have enough depth for much on my 05 there is airbag electronics behind it, which you dont want to mess with. I put a 6 inch monitor in my visor that was pretty easy I just popped out the little mirror and used a dremel tool to cut the hole. Rather than cut up headrests there are companies that make replacement headrests that come with monitors already installed. I perfer hidden to flash. I have a jlaudio stealthbox in the back drivers side compartment, which is pretty much the only space to put sonething hidden. Toyota does a very good job of using space and there isnt much wasted. You can stash a sizeable amplifier in the same side panel over the wheelwell yiou have to get rid of the pockets and cupholders, just cover them with plastic or grillcloth. If you do it right you can have it so you open the far back compartment to access amplifier adjustments. You might also be able to hide a small amp under the passenger front seat.
Good luck
Will

Default Thanks for the advice.

I have some work to do. I have several ideas I would like to try. None of them are going to be snap into place. but...when I get r done, I think I will have a Seq to talk about. I will defininatly post some pics.

I have a mobile dj business and that's what i want my Sequoia to represent, music and entertainment. Eventually, I would like to be able to pull up to an outside event, open the back hatch, pop up some tripods with speakers, flip a swith and get the party started. Not to mention what this would do for tailgating. Even though it's for UK. Too bad we don't tailgate for basketball.

Thanks again...any more ideas are welcome.
