Amp installation if 2006 sequoia. need help

I'm thinking about getting a JL Audio Stealthbox subwoofer installed in the driver's side rear quarterpanel of my 2006 SR5. The installer said there wasn't enough room for the amps under the seats (is this true? seemed like enough room to me). He suggested installing the amps just in front of the subwoofer, where the cupholders for the third seat and the storage bin are. Those would have to be sacrificed but would provide ventilation. This is just above the rear wheel. Anybody tried this? Any other thoughts on amp placement?

I also have a '06 Sequoia and I had "Sound Advice" install the "JL Stealthbox" in the rear drivers side quarterpanel. They also installed two JL Audio amps (one for the Stealthbox & one for the (4) door speakers) one under each seat. They fit w/o a problem. Only thing is that you won't have any space to put anything under the seats. By the way, It sounds awesome! I got the stealthbox b/c I didn't want to sacrifice hatchspace but I wasn't sure how it would sound. I was surprised how loud the bass was from that enclosure...hope this helps.

Yes, there are a couple users here that have mounted amps in the rear location you mentioned.
I have an amp mounted under each of the front seats. I removed both of the plastic heat ducts that run under the front seats in order to get more clearance for the amps when you need to move the seats. I think about the max size amp that would fit uner the front seats (depending on which end your connections are) is about 14 x 12 x 2.5 inches.

I recently installed a JL Steathbox in my 03 Sequoia. I also mounted a Alpine PDX digital amp right next to it. There is enough room to put a small amp underneath the panel right next to the sub box without cutting. I had to mount the amp sort of vertically and screwed a bracket to hold it down from rattling. No cutting or bending was necessary and it sounds awesome. I liked this amp because of its very low heat output and it monos at 300 watts.
