Default Sirius Sportster Stereo or Not?

This seems like a stupid question, but for those with a Sportster or Sportster Replay, do you receive a stereo signal? I know that when I use the built-in FM modulator (at work), I definitely do not get a stereo broadcast on my Walkman (and they confirmed on Howard Stern that even though they broadcast in stereo, some people using FM modulators do not get stereo sound). However, at home I plug the Sportster Replay directly into the audio jacks on my garage stereo. The other night I listened to several music channels and could not detect any stereo separation.

To link this to a Tundra issue, I am about to install USA Spec Aux Interfaces on my Tundra and Echo, in part to allow true stereo sound. Am I fooling myself? Is the Sportster not even a stereo receiver?

I have the replay and I do get a stereo output both from hardwired and fm modulator. I have noticed the fm modulator cutting out from time to time, probably when there is interference.

Thanks for your reply. So that I understand, you didn't select any different settings than nominal on the Replay unit so that it works in stereo, right? If there is a song with noticeably different information in right and left channels (The Who comes to mind), you hear that? If so, there is surely something screwed up with my unit. The sound is crisp and clear, but without stereo separation.

I have a sportster replay that I have connected via the FM modulator. Sound quality is poor. I also get static from the FM station I'm tuned to. Does anyone know if it is possible to do a direct connection from the Sportster cradle to the back of the JBL tuner 6 CD changer, Cassette unit that came stock on a 2005 Tundra? I am told that this type of connection will result in very good sound quality.

Disregard, I found a thread that gave me the answer. PIE Aux Connector...

I use the sportster replay and I recenlty installed the fm modle relay

Buy the SIRIUS FM Module Relay (DEI 14110) and other Satellite Radio Portable Accessories at circuitcity.com

It provides a hardwire connection to you factory stereo and since it is a relay it cuts-out the standard fm antenna for your truck when you satellite is powered on this eliminating any interference. The sound quality is damn good too. I could barely tell the difference between it and a usa-spec adapter. Plus, its alot cheaper than some of the other products.
