If it is a E7006, then there is a 4 prong plug on the back of the radio. The camera plugs directly into it. No converter needed.

Paul,
I'm new to this site and I also want to attach a BU camera to my nav system in my 2006 DC limited. My nav system is a single CD and no bluetooth system. What camera do I need to get so that it will just plug into the back of my nav system?
This is good information. I have a 2006 new Tundra Access Cab Limited that was supposed to come from the factory with a navi system but didn't. The dealer without approval took the liberty of installing an after market Eclipse 5435 unit and also kept my stock equipment. What was in my truck (that the dealer removed) was apparently non JBL. (I didn't notice this for a week because I work a lot)
I can see under the rear passenger side seat where the amp was and where they spliced the wiring for the Eclipse unit. I am determined to install a new Toyota JBL E7009 navi unit I purchased. I can obtain a JBL digital amp(necessary) but am pretty sure the wiring is going to be a challenge. I have also read the Sienna forum where there is good info on the install of JBL navi HU.
Any idea on next step or advice. I am willing to pay a pro shop to do the work, but I want to be sure it is done right. (I already have $4K invested, what's another $1K)

Big challange, I personally don't know of such a shop, but it would be an older shop that where they have a senior guy. At $50 an hour, I don't 20 hours is going to get it. Also, with all of the trouble I've had getting a connector, it might be tough "going". But the wiring digrams are all available, so the job is really make a harness or two and route them.
Hopefully someone on the list might know (and maybe even the Sienna guys could help)
Please keep good notes and start another thread so we all can track your progress (and maybe help)
I will keep the forum informed. I have posted on several threads and this maneuver seems to have most stymied or they don't understand why someone wants stock over after market.
I am surprised that Toyota does not make a harness so that they could satisfy customer orders when filling orders at the port.
I see only a wiring harness problem and there has to be someone out there who can custom build harnesses.
I can obtain a JBL digital amp(necessary) but am pretty sure the wiring is going to be a challenge.
The E7009 has a NEW 24 pin connector on it, but the other 6 connectors are the same as the older (E7001,E7003, E7005 and E7006).
R12 CN2851 20pin
part# 90980-12038
R11 CN2901 12pin
part# 90980-12183
R10 CN7001 20pin
part# 90980-12259
R9 CN1701 5pin
part# 90980-11909
R7 CN1706 6pin
part# 90980-12209
The square grey connector (next to the blue connector) is the same on all the models, it is the GPS antenna connector. That connector will come with the GPS antenna of your NAV unit.
The new 24pin connector on the E7009 seems to be a combination of the old R8 CN1705 10pin video/communications connector (90980-11909) along with the old 4pin Reverse Camera connector and the old 8pin Voice Command Mic connector. (The Camera and Mic connectors would each have come already attached to both the mic and the camera).
The pins to insert into each of those connectors could be scavanged from the 'Y Harness' that Toyota and others sell, or from an actual car RADIO HARNESS, or from the CD Audio cables like THIS, or you could search for the individual wire crimps like THESE and crimp them yourself.
As for identifying the correct wires, it shouldn't be too hard to get a member of the forum to take a digital photo of their harness so you can see the wire colors.
On that note you should DEFINITELY check this PAGE out. He has pictures of the individual connectors, many of which clearly show the wires. You can also take a look at the E7006's SERVICE MANUAL.
My '05 Sequoia interior is "light charcoal". Do you happen to know the number for the switch that matches in color? (I was working on this 1.5 yrs ago and back then the dealer and I couldn't find a good match though then there weren't as many Toyota vehicles with bluetooth options.)
Thanks,
Steve

A steering wheel switch is 84250-08030-B0 (B0 for the gray <taupe> switch), which I've just ordered. (includes both sides)
Parts for the Aux port are 84480-AE0303 and 86190-AE010. I've ordered them also.
My final bit of news is that I used the original electrical diagram and ran a wire between pin 12 and 15, but an update diagram showed the jump er between 12 and 18. I need to try this when I pull the radio. This may help my microphone issues.
More to come.....

What do you mean "both sides"? On my Tundra I have the controls on the Left side only, what are the buttons that go on the right side? (They are just blanks on mine)

Yes, I got them (they come as a pair) in light gray (p/n 84250-08030-B0 ) but have not had time for the install.
Basically lift the steering wheel cover pul the old switch and blank, then install the new switches.

Stock they are blank...
If you add the microphone for voice commands, then you can change the single sided switch with a dual sided swtich from a Sienna (P/N above for light gray)
Where does the microphone mount? Also, this sounds like a weird question I guess, but is it "bad" to remove the airbag panel? (obviously disconnect the battery before hand) I am getting ready to purchase the 07 NAV to put in my 05 Tundra with JBL, and I would like the backup camera/microphone/right hand steering wheel buttons/factory XM/Sirius, just trying to get an idea of part numbers and the work involved to make it all work correctly

I used velcro to mount the mic on top of the the steering column.
If you check the link I posted above, they describe how to pull the airbag and install the switches.
I mounted my camera under the hitch assy and in a few inches. The routing of the lead is pretty strait forward. I came into the cab with the main wiring loom under the drivers seat. I think all the p/n's are scattered in the earlier posts... The mic kit is a Toyota p/n. My camera was a BC-105 off ebay. Sirius kit for a Solara. If you get a 7007,8 or 9, you'll have to get creative with connecting the wiring harness. If you buy an E7006, its plug and play!
Am I confusing you with someone else or did you originally have the mic mounted by the rear window switch? If so, why did you move it? (not that it fits there on my vehicle as I have the disable curtain airbags switch there.) I was basically wondering if the mic is at all directional and am considering mounting mine on top of the steering column or at the top of the driver A-pillar.
If I mount the mic at the top of the A-pillar I want to be sure the wire doesn't interfere with the side curtain airbags. Anyone know how the side curtain airbags actually deploy?
Thanks,
Steve

I saw the information about removing the airbag, still kinda nervous dealing with it though, don't want to screw anything up or get hurt (the airbags are REALLY expensive)
