Am I confusing you with someone else or did you originally have the mic mounted by the rear window switch? If so, why did you move it? (not that it fits there on my vehicle as I have the disable curtain airbags switch there.) I was basically wondering if the mic is at all directional and am considering mounting mine on top of the steering column or at the top of the driver A-pillar.
If I mount the mic at the top of the A-pillar I want to be sure the wire doesn't interfere with the side curtain airbags. Anyone know how the side curtain airbags actually deploy?
Thanks,
Steve
Maybe someone else. I wanted the mic directly in front of my speech as the voice recognition is a bit weak. So I mounted it on top of the steering pillar. If you mount it with velcro,, you can try various positions.
The mic kits I have seen have a button, what mic do I use if I put the button assembly on the steering wheel instead?
Again, in the Sienna files, there is a way to disconnect the switch from the assembly and use the steering wheel buttons. Those buttons are so easy to control, (and look so good), that I thought it was worth the expense.
Also if you are nervous, just have the dealer do the install. Since everything is plug and play, it ought to reasonable. (but ask first....and let us know)
Is the bottom button on the steering wheel control (voice command) only for a cell phone, or can I also use it to control the navigation system? Or is it not for a cell phone at all and only the top buttons are used for a cell phone? Also, does the system must out all audio while on a cell phone call? This probably is all on the sienna site, but I do not want to subscribe to that site.

The three new buttons do the following: Activate the mic for voice navigation, take the phone off hook and put the phone on hook. The radio mutes during a call and the callers voice comes thru the speakers...quite slick.
Just new here. I'm wondering which kind of mic did you use on this installation? Is it the one available only for asian vehicles?
FYI. Just finished my installation on E7009 on my 05 Tundra DC. That kind of mic (available for asian models only) works good on me. Have it installed on overhead console. I've the same steering wheel controls that you've got (sienna part). I've have a light charcoal interior. There's no available color for Tundra that will match with the existing left hand side controls. So, I'm forced to install the same as you got.

What color is the interior of you Tundra? Tan/oak or grey?

All work fine on me.
Good Luck on your installation.
I've got the "Taupe" or light gray (the same as a 2006 Sienna).
Yes, I have the "Asian" microphone kit, which is black, but some have painted to match.
Finally, I stand corrected, the drivers speaker is the only one activated when using the telephone/bluetooth.
Hi all, I have a 2006 Tundra with the JBL DVD player. I upgraded to the e7009 (replacing the e7002) but now the rear DVD video doesn't look like it gets any power. I can still hear the audio of the DVD through the speakers.
The display screen show a button to activate the rear screen, but it acts like it doesn't have a rear screen connected. I installed the new unit and all other functionality works just fine.
What is the part number for the Microphone? I have a JBL e7009 taht has bluttoth but I need to get the microphone for it. Is the installation straightforward?

The guys on the Sienna forum are having the same problem. When a soultion gets posted, I'll cross post it.

Part number is 86750-44020. (Try 1-888-340-8696, ask for John in parts, he is a Tundra owner).
Strait forward, but a few issues:
Unless you can graft the wires, you need a connector for R10. Both the rear view camera and microphone are wired thru this connector.
