for those of you with the mic mounted on the steering column or on the top of the combination meter, how is the reception for cell phone conversations? Can the other person hear you ok? I am going out to my truck now to install an automatic lock module, and I will try to install the mic at the same time, just want to see how the reception is before I start drilling, lol
No need to drill, use velcro! As for the sound, the Tundra is sooo quiet, that mounting the mic is not an issue. Mine works fine on top of the steering column.

Ended mounting it on the combination meter surround above the ignition. If I installed it on the steering column, I would have drilled a hole for the wire
EDIT: Finally got the connector and pins today, installed. I cannot believe how clear the mic reception is on a phone call!! It doesn't recognize many commands though that well. The connector came from the dealer (only two day wait time!!!, yes day not week!!!) and the pins came from mouser.com, the link is earlier in this thread.
heres a picture where I mounted the mic (above ignition)
works great, I love the hands free cell phone feature, very clear, the other person on the phone can hear me fine. Voice recognition works ok, but its just easier to reach and press the buttons on the screen. The recognition works well on the phone dialing though.
Well I finished my temporary backup camera today, works great, but cant wait till the custom tailgate handle camera comes out I will immediately replace this with the custom Tundra camera. I made a custom harness for my OEM nav. I bought some "rca female" solder type jacks that are made to go on the end of a cable. I attached that to the wires coming out of the R10 connector on the back of the headunit. This way I can always upgrade my camera and it will always be plug and play. I ran the cable under the drivers seat through the grommet and zip-tied the cable to the OEM loom running to the back of the truck, big job but it looks really neat Then I just roto-zipped the toyota tow hitch blank so the camera would fit. I wired the camera to ignition hot instead of reverse hot because it was easier, and the headunit senses reverse from a separate reverse wire, not from the camera input
Anyways, it's a really a nice piece of mind with all the kids around our neighborhood, doesn't replace rear view mirrors though, lol
These first 3 pics are with the flower post closest to the truck.
Does anybody know if the E7007/8/9 will allow continued functionality of the rear audio (not DVD) in my 2006 DC Tundra? Would like to have the NAV and retain that functionality.

I assume you are asking about the rear speakers/amp. What's in your truck from the factory? If you have a Nav system, the newer 7/8/9 will still drive the rear.
Thanks - I have the JBL 3-in-1 AM/FM/Cassette/6-Disc CD Changer w/8 Speakers (non NAV)
Actually, I'm speaking of the rear seat audio controls - gives the rear passangers the ability to listen to any of the sources (CD, Radio, etc) via headphones regardless of what the head unit is set to - has display on roof with remote to change source with a couple jacks on center console including volume control. Just want to know if E7007/8/9 NAV will allow continued use of those functions.
Here are some pictures of the install, the sirius radio module is below the passengers seat. I am not really impressed with the reception of the glass antenna, but it has been really overcast so that might have something to do with it. I had to drill a small hole on each end of the plastic casing so I could pass the wire for the auto-dim mirror through it.
wooohooo!! I am finished with my OEM nav completely (except for one connector that is not really needed, and the VSE sub)
Installed the aux input from a Toyota Sienna today. Part number 86190-AE010 ($28)
Here is what the Sienna part looks like, you have to take it completely apart. I then removed the grey connector on it so I had bare pins to solder wires to. (this picture is from siennaclub.org)
Then I ordered the pins from mouser.com for the end that hooks up to the headunit (I am missing the connector for the pins,so I just put heat shrink on them and inserted them into the corresponding pins)
The most difficult part was putting the aux port in the dash knockout, I am a perfectionist so it had to look good I ended up taking a small drill bit from behind through the small circle thing, lol. Then I took a bigger bit and drilled from the front, this took out that circular post on the back.
The circuit board was too large to fit in properly so I CAREFULLY used a roto-zip with the sanding bit to make it narrower. I then had to slowly enlarge the hole to match the port, it's an odd size so I didn't have a drill bit that matched. Then I used epoxy to glue the circuit board in place, let that dry, then filled everything in with hot glue. Then it was just a matter of plugging it in
Here are the wiring diagrams/parts I used: (Thanks seany @ siennaclub.org for posting the first diagram for me!!) Comparing the 1st and 2nd pictures below: From AUX pin 2 connects to 2 on nav, pin 1 connects to 3, pin 3 connects to 5, pin 4 connects to 6. It's hard to explain but the pins on the AUX unit are numbered weird, if needed I can go back and get exactly how they are connected and post.

Where did you get the Sirius radio kit from? How much was it? And after a few more weeks of use, how has the reception been on the glass antenna?

I bought the Sirius radio kit off of a member on siennaclub.org. not sure of the part numbers. I got it for $100. The reception is ok with the glass mounted antenna. It cuts off if you go under trees a lot. I might replace it later, but for now it is good because I don't have to have a visible antenna on the exterior.
Lately I have been getting a lot of PM's concerning my navigation install Figured I would add a post at the end of this thread with all the part numbers/parts I used for the entire install.
1: Navigation Unit: Toyota E7009 (DOES NOT WORK WITH REAR ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM)
2: Steering wheel phone controls
Only come in pairs, for the most part if you don't have controls on the left from the factory, you cannot add them on later, too expensive and time consuming
Part Number: 84250-08030-B0 (B = Grey, replace B with E for Tan. The grey switches are a match to the taupe door panels of my truck, does not match steering wheel, both have green illumination
3: Microphone Kit: If ya want the other people on the phone to hear you
5: Sirius radio, bought off ebay, not sure of part number (navigation is compatible with either xm or sirius, will work with "Toyota Solara/Camry" fit kits
6: GPS Antenna: Part Number 86860-47050, also a Lexus part
7: R10 Connector: Used for connecting microphone and backup camera.
Part Number: 90980-12404
8: Pins for R10 connector: LINK Stock #: 571-104480-7
9: Aux input from sienna, just adds audio, no ipod control
Part Number: 86190-AE010
There is some custom work to be done for this part, not a plug and play type thing, the wiring diagram is earlier in this thread
Do you have any installation diagram for the R10 connection for the camera and mic? I am curious to get my installed, i purchased the E7007 and Eclipse BEC106 and also the same mice from Japan base on your link. If you can email or post this diagram on how you did it I greatly appreciated. Do you know if I didn't purchase the steering wheel kit and not planning to get that, will the mic still work?
Yup, heres the info. Originally came from siennaclub.org
Yes the mic would still work. To pick up a call you would click on a green phone icon on the bottom right of the screen. To make a call you would press info - phone, (I believe, double check in a couple minutes.)
I decided to do a more complete write-up since I have had a few PM's about the aux input for the E7009. The file is linked below, let me know what you think (it's a lot of typing so there may be minor typo's and grammar errors ) Tried to think of everything involved.
