Hoping to get a "what is the largest size that will fit" answer to anyone who has mounted an amplifier under the passenger seat in an access cab Tundra. Mine is an '05.
It is real cold here in NY right now and I would like to avoid taking out the seat. So thanks in advance !!!

i have a Diamond Audio D5 300.2 under my '01 passenger seat. I took out the seat to mount it. It's about the tallest amp that will fit, but there's length and width to spare. pics in my gallery.
let me know if you want me to measure it

I think it also matters what amp you are talking about and how the wires are set up. If you did a soundstream type amp that has all the wires on one side you would be better off than some amps that have wires on opposing sides. I have mounted a small amp under my tundra passenger seeat with no issues. Being in Vermont I totally agree with your point about the cold...but it makes the install much easier. I am about 2 months into my install and in warm weather i think I could have knocked it out in 2 weekends.
BTW..the tundra seats come out in about 45 seconds...4 bolts and done. My eD Nine.2 would have fit fine under my seat, but thats abotu as big as you would want to go...it was 10x12x2.25

Thanks for the response,
Yes, I am narrowing down my choices based on physical size and wiring orientation (I am thinking all on one side facing back with a block off plate to keep my kids feet at bay).
Nice to know they still come out easy, I remember switching my bench seat out for some SR5 seats in my '87 4WD Toy I had in college took about 5 minutes. .
I hope to have the new system in the Tundra before racing season so I can travel to the race track with some solid, great sounding tunes. I bought an Eclipse 8445 today and I have some infinity components so far for rear and doors. Subwoofer and sub amp next.

I found out that the listed dimensions on your amp is 12.5", 12", 2.75".
I really want a 4-channel amp that is 100 W RMS x 4 at 4 ohms. I am really interested in the INFINITY REFERENCE 7541A
Specs are:
4-channel car amplifier 111 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (139 watts x 4 at 2 ohms)
278 watts RMS x 2 bridged output at 4 ohms (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)
front and rear variable high-/low-pass filters (32-320 Hz, 12 dB/octave)
variable bass boost (0-12 dB at 50 Hz)
MOSFET power supplies - CEA-2006 compliant
Tri-way capable (Tri-Way Crossover required)
preamp- and speaker-level inputs, preamp outputs
requires 8-gauge power and ground leads
fuse rating: 30A x 2
Dimensions:
15"W x 2-11/16"H x 12"D --- 2 11/16" = 2.7"
So it seems it would fit based on the way your amp fits..
Thanks for the help !!!

I Was Thinking About Mounting My Alpine Under The Pass Seat. Its A Tad Smaller Than Your Amp. Was There A Suitable Lug Under There For Your Ground Connection? What About Your Power Cable, Did You Run That Along The Driver Sill, Then Cut In Under The Driver Seat Over To The Amp? I Was Thinking That Route For Power, And For Inputs. I Was Thinking About Bundling My Inputs On The Pass Side Sill Till About Half Way Down. Any Info Would Help
I mounted my Alpine MRV-F450 under the passenger seat of my 2003 Tundra Access cab. It measures 16-7/16 x 2-11/16 x 9-11/16
I removed the seat, placed the amp then cut out the carpet where the amp would sit LEAVING TABS OF CARPET to frame around the amp. This way if you look under the seat all you will see is carpet plus it took care of the height problem.

Use the seat bolt as a ground

I ran my 4 ga cable from the battery back to the firewall, along the firewall to the passenger side then along the crease near the transmission hump then under the seat. It is a good idea to keep your power wire and RCA input wires away from each other as much as possible

lift up the carpet and let us kno what you find...
last time i checked, it was a couple of wiring harnesses. I'm guessing its for the SRS system. Back to my question, can it be moved, removed, anything?
If it's SRS, I wouldn't mess with it. When I looked at mine, I believe there is a sticker on there that said not to move or realign it. I'm in the middle of my own install right now but if I think about it, I'll double check for that sticker.
I looked at that piece when I was under the carpet the other night and there IS a sticker on there that says not to move the unit. Not EXACTLY sure what it does but it does appear to hook to the SRS.
