Question Rear view camera ideas

OK, here's what I'm looking to do. I would like to install a rear view camera in my 2004 DC and run it to a 3.5" LCD that I can mount in the underside of flip up lid on the center console (That little part that has the clip board "thingy" on it). I've looked everywhere on-line and I can't find an OEM LCD display that will work. I have found several cameras but they are all made by Clarion, Pioneer, etc. I'm afraid that these are all going to proprietary and won't function the way that I'm hoping. My goal is to not have some huge, tacky LCD display taking up dash space.
Let me know if anyone has seen these or knows of any sources where I can buy a camera and LCD display (either as a kit or as separate compnents.
Thanks in advance!
-Aaron

If you have a fry's near you can get an outdoor camera for home use around 40$ to 60$ depending on what you want as far as options. Most of the smaller ones all use 12 volts and run rca inputs

Here is a cheap screen

Hello Aaron,

I bought two of these wireless backup cameras and they work just great.
Check it out at:

I just finished installing a camera on my 06 DC. I used pretty much the same camera Hi-Cs link shows. Instead of using a stand alone screen I bought a JVC stereo that has a 3.5" screen. Check my albums for pictures.

I put one on my 07 DC like Earl posted. It works great! I bolted it to the top of the Licensae plate after drilling a small hole in the plate for the wire. Instead of wiring it to the back-up lights like the insturction say, I wired it to the License plate light for now.
