Just came accross the new Alpine IVA-W200 and was wondering if anyone has one installed in a Tundra? I have a 2004 access cab and want to know if it will fit in the dash (without major modification)
Thanks,
JP

The IVA-W200 just came out and is still rather scarce in the retail channels... Crutchfield doesn't expect another batch until late May. But as soon as they are readily available, I plan on putting one in my DC. I don't expect any trouble... it's a standard double DIN just like the factory and Eclipse nav units, which fit without any problems. You will have to fill the spaces on the sides though.

Installed mine a week ago and it fit like it was made for the truck 2001.
It uses the factory brackets.
So how do you like it, any thought you could share about it? Any problems with glare on the screen, is it easy to read the display?Originally Posted by pbmorrill1

Love it I am returning to alpine because my eclipse died. That said this unit is easy to use and does not have many of alpines complicated adjustments. For instance the listening position is adjusted by touching a spot on the display screen. You can also add on until you are blue in the face (check owners manual on alpines site). The full speed Ipod connection is the best update yet remember that the cable does not come with it save yourself an extra trip. Finally the glare yes depending on the sun but just change the screen angle one notch and it is gone.Originally Posted by jpeepers

Sup guys, OOOOK so I just got the W200 installed yesterday and I must say that it's pretty cool! I picked the truck up at about 6-6:15pm so it was dusk. There was no glare whatsoever but the factory settings make the display quite dim. I haven't had much of a chance to really play with the thing because I was too busy going to the club last night and getting all hammered, but in the next few days I will explore more about the deck. As for positions, to load a cd, when you push the eject button, the monitor folds out a little bit exposing the tray right behind the screen. The only problem I have about that is that there is no lighted ring around the insert so it is a little hard to see where you can stick in the cd, dvd whatevers. You can also tilt the monitor out in four positions so that it's not flat against the stereo to prevent glare I'm assuming.
As for fitment, yes it's a relatively easy install, but as mentioned before you have to fabricate a faceplate to fill in the side because there's no dash kit made for this thing yet. My stereo install guy just whipped up a plastic one that looks good and blends in with the dash. The display is really easy to read and the user interface is pretty much straightforward so it's quite easy to navigate your way around.
WHen my camera is charged, i'll post up pics and maybe a few vids of operation. Oh and price i paid was $950 at the stereo shop here. 42gami, I went to custom mobile creations in Kalihi across the street from the Post Office. Any other questions, just let me know and hopefully I can answer them
Great product by the way, especially since I mated them with DLS R6A components in the front. Was watching V for Vendetta in my truck while my laundry was going about 45mins ago, cranked the volume to 15 and it was better then the theatre![]()

I read about this on Alpine... but it didn't answer my question. Is the Navigation system built into it? Or do we have to buy seperate parts for that? If so... which ones?
thanks

Nav is not included but it does have a nav input. Alpine makes to nav systems that you can use. The full blown unit with the separated Nav DVD drive or the portable Blackbird.Originally Posted by Justang
