Anybody Got The Alpine NAV Traffic Rx?

I installed one in my 03 Tundra, hooking it up to my NVE-N872A...no worky . Running it thru the Terk Alpine XM + Adapter (which doesn't work properly either, left channel is dead). Anyway, called Alpine and they told me there is a software update required to the NVE-N872A Nav DVD ROM before it will recognize the traffic receiver. First traffiic receivers shipped without this DVD, supposedly all fresh stuff off the line ship with the DVD. I checked a local authorized Alpine retailer and Crutchfield and neither had any idea what I was talking about. We even opened a few boxes at the local retailer and they didn't have the DVD either. I didn't buy my stuff thru an authorized dealer so Alpine won't help. I argued that regardless of whom I buy it from, Alpine should at least give me EVERYTHING required to install and use, should I need warranty service later, I'll deal with that on my own. Don't want to start an conversation about the merits of buying from an authorized dealer, just want the feedback from owners or better yet...A COPY OF THE SOFTWARE.

You should have the disc. It is the Northern Maps (Canada northern US states) DVD that came with the NAVI. There is no CD or DVD that comes with the XM receiver. When you put the North disc in it will start installing the current Navi software automatically.

I had the same problem as well. The Navi would not see that the XM traffic receiver was installed. After I updated the software from 1.00 to 1.02 it showed right up! Love the traffic feature by the way!

My NAV system only came with the map disks, however; they didn't have 1.02 on them. Contacted Alpine and they concurred and sent me a copied update for 1.02. All is well now.
