Default Help on radio installation

I want to put a Toyota JBL 6 disk radio in my 2006 Tundra DC truck. The plugins are different from what I have and I need to install another amp. I have an amp out of a 2004 Tundra that will work with the radio I want to install. Can I install this amp in my truck so this radio will work or can I get a harness and use the amp that is in my truck? The 1st & 2nd pictures are what I currently have and the 3rd & 4th are what I want to install and also a picture of the amp to install. Thanks for any input. I went to a radio shop and they don't like to install an original Toyota radio.

It looks like what you are taking out is a Radio with a built-in amp (has a 10 pin & 6 pin connection). To install the new radio and amp, you plug the existing harness 6 & 10 pin connectors into the amp, and connect the 20 pin pigtail on the amp to the radio.

Thank you for your answer Glenn. I have asked the Service Manager at Toyota and also radio installation shops and 2 forums and no one seemed to know what to do. I was unclear about the amp situation as I thought I had an amp in my truck somewhere. I appreciate it.

I did this swap today and everything seemed to work but I couldn't get the volume to adjust. Can anyone help me. The radio is a 2006 and the amp is a 2004. Would that make any difference? Thanks in advance for any input.

I had the same issue. You need to get a digital amp. I bought one from a camry and it powers on and sounds great. The only issue I have now is where to located the amp. Hope this helps you.
