Default USA Spec Aux Interface

I recently purchased the USA Spec Aux Interface off of ebay and when it arrived, it had no wiring harness, just the interface. Can someone who is currently using this tell me which harnesses I will need. I know that it comes with 2, but do I need both? I am installing it in a 2006 Tundra DC with JBL Stereo System. Any information will be of great help. Thanks!!!

Welcome to TundraSolutions.

My USA Spec adapter came with a long blue cable and one short Y cable. The blue cable plugged into the USA Spec box and also to the port in the back of my stock 2000 model year radio. Stock 2004 and newer radios also require the short Y cable. It changes the rectangular connector that is at the end of the long blue cable to the more square connector so that it will fit in the port of the newer Toyota radios. Unless Toyota changed the port design of the radios in 2006, you need this one too. Did you not get the longer blue (or whatever color it may be) cable?

Pictures of the blue cable and the short Y cable are in my gallery. Just click on the little camera icon in the top right corner of this post and it will take you there. There are two photos of my USA Spec aux input that are on the bottom of the page when I view it.

Take a look at the photos to see if this helps clear up what you need. Let us know what you find.

Good luck.

Paul

Thanks Paul. When I bid on it on ebay, I didn't realize that it didn't come with any cables, so I am trying to locate them on the internet. I had read that not everyone had to use the Y-adapter cable, but the instructions say that most newer vehicles need it, so I wanted to check and see if anyone needed it for their Double Cab. If not, why spend the extra cash when I don't need to. But it looks like I'm going to have to. Thanks for the info.

Dude,
I got a set you can have for the postage. I hated that Damn interface. The right channel always dropped out after about 30 minutes of use. Prolly just a bad box but I finally broke down and bought the Alpine HU with adapter, best thing I ever did. You send me a SASE, the foam padded 8x10 kind and I'll send it to you.
