Default Pioneer 7" In dash screen Question.

Hey there,

Just picked up an in dash DVD/screen combo made by Pioneer. Problem is, the video output is not operable while driving due to a park brake cord installed by the dealer. Unfortunately, I purchased the in-dash due to space constraints in my truck, but now, while driving, even my passengers cannot watch the screen! Is there anyway to disable this feature? I.E have the screen have a DVD video display WHILE driving?

Hope someone can help.
Cheers
Asif

You could bypass the parking brake wire, by rewiring it to another source.

Asif,

looks like you've got your answer. also check your installation guide. should tell you where the original line was hooked up too.

There is a wire going to somewhere near your parking brake that is getting power, when the parking brake is set. You just need to remove that wire and ground the wire to anywhere metal on the console or truck. So that the wire is not getting any power or signal.

I had to wire mine through a switch to ground. it wouldnt play unless the parking brake was switched on then off(not grounded then grounded). I have a pioneer flip up so it could be different, but I doubt it.
