I trimmed out the edge with black plastic door trim and painted the inside black.
Im in the process of trying to pick out some subs right now, I'm looking at RE's, elemental designs, jl and daytons. How does your JL sound? Do you have one or two? Also, how did you seal the compartment?

Where you at in Orlando?

I have a single JL and to me it sounds great. My last truck had 4 JL6WO's behind the seat and I really liked the sound so I am sold on JL.

Sealing the box:
First used small pieces of flashing cut to cover the holes. ( a tip I read on the forum)
Cut a piece of wood to fit the end closest to the door. (another great tip I read)
Taped up all of the joints using metal tape (the kind you use for AC ducts)
Sprayed the entire box with 2 coats of Undercoating/sound dampener (bought at Pep Boys)

Now this may not be the preferred method of the audio pros, but it was a very easy way to do it ( and I like the rubber spray. It sealed all the nooks and crannies, and wont let anything rattle.)

I live in the Dr Phillips area and have businesses in the Lake Mary, Downtown, And Universal Studios areas. If you want to hear my setup to help you decide shoot me an PM

Im debating whether or not to do fiberglass boxes or to do something like you did. I might have to take you up on your offer to listen to it sometime. I live in Winter Springs and work in Sanford.

Are you hammering out the bottom or the "sloped wall" or both? I would love to put some AA's in there, once somebody has them in stock again. I was also looking at RE's, JL's, ED's and Daytons. Got any reccomendations on these? The assassins are hard to beat, especially for the price.

How did you seal off your compartments?

I was in the same boat. I decided to try the easy way first. I figure I can always fiberglass if I am unhappy. I was going to put some sort of coating on the metal anyway because I was worried about the fiberglass box rattling against the metal. I own a restaurant inside SCC of Lake Mary Blvd. My truck is usually there between 10:30a-1:30p. Good luck with your setup.

all i hammered was the sloped wall, and they fit fine now. i sealed it with Edead which sounded great with the 8w3's. and i have a us amps XT4000d for the assassins, but i recommend the 8w3's with a 500/1, they sounded great and could be heard blocks away.

basically yes, i had a 3 sub baffle for a long time using the 3 8w3's, then just cut out the divider in the compartments and made a 4 sub baffle

I am waiting for all my stuff I orderd to do my install.

3 RE 8" subs
Alpine MRD-M605 600 watt mono amp
Crystal SSCS 6 6.5 components up front
Alpine MRP-F250 200 2 channel amp

I never have anyone in my truck, so I have designed a box to fit on the floor in front of the back seat. Will have about .4 cubes for each sub.

I should have all installed by the weekend after next, I will post pictures once it's done. Im hoping this setup will sound good.
