Default speaker problem in 2000 avalon??

I bought a 2k avalon last night, this was my first road trip today.

I think I may have a problem with two of my front speakers, but was wanting to see what everyone else thought.

My back speaker is blown, I know that already, so I switched the fade to just the front speakers.

At various times it seems like I completely lose two of the front four speakers, or they get lower than the other two-very annoying-sometimes it sounds great and other times pretty mediocre.

At first I thought it was a feature of some Chevy's where when you slow down or stop at a light the radio gets softer, but there is no rhyme or reason when they get softer or completely go out.

Anyone else had that problem? Thanks!

Default Re: speaker problem in 2000 avalon??

Is this the upgraded jbl system, or the stock toyota one? either way, chances are that either the blown speaker in the rear is grounding out, drawing power from the amp, or even overheating it, as heat goes up, so does resistance, and down goes power, which explains it getting softer. that or they may be on their way out as well, im honestly surprised if stock speakers in most any car last past 5 years. try replacing them, if yous till have the problem, replace the radio/amp, and you might as well get a decent set of speakers while youre at it, its definately not worth it to get some crappy 20$ flea market stuff
