Default 07 Avalon - why no folding mirrors?

Has anyone suffered a broken mirror housing due to the fact that they don't fold? It didn't occur to me that they wouldn't fold until I got to the carwash and they tried to fold them away.

I imagine this is a decontenting/cost-cutting move to keep the price down, but this is a basic capability of most cars, even most Toyotas.

Agreed, that is greed by Toyota on a rather expensive car.

I hear you loud and clear on that one. I bought a new 06 LTD and lost a mirror to a deer. That thing costs over $500.

When Toyota sent me the questionnaire about my car that was the one thing I really hated. If a cheap Chevy and a Hyundai can have folding mirrors why can't the Toyota Flagship have them?

Bad move Toyota! If I lived somewhere busier it would be reason enough to get a different car.
