Default Remove Rear Spoiler

Has anyone removed the rear spoiler on a 2008 Avalon. I have a 2008 Touring. The spoiler comes standard and I do not like the way it looks on the car. I am guessing that the spoiler is held in place with double sided tape. Don't want to damage the soft black paint. Please share your experience. Thanks

Yes, it uses double sided tape, however there is also five 7.5 mm holes drilled through the trunk lid. If you remove the spoiler, you will end up with the holes to look at. I installed one on my 2008 Limited, so I am sure of the holes.

Ditto on the bolts for the spoiler. I had one installed on my 08 Avalon and it does have bolts in addition to the double sided tape.
