Default 2000 Avalon xls trans refill

I drained the trans & diff the factory makes no mention of a diff fill procedure however it does say that the drain & refill capacity is 5 qts w/o diff but no mention of w/diff as I approached 4 qts it was coming up on the full Hot mark so I quit. how can I be sure that the diff is full?

all you should need is 3 qts, fill it in the dipstick tube, the diff will fill through the transmission, there is no seperate fill for it.. tony

^^What he said. The differential cavity holds around 1.5qts (if you open the differential drain plug) and the trans pan about 3qts. They both fill through the trans dipstick tube.
