Default 1998 Avalon front camber adjustment

My 98 Avalon has chewed the inside of both front tires to the point I had just replaced them and I am getting conflicting solutions to solve this issue as I do not want to spend another $200 in tires in 10Kmiles.

- Solution at shop # 1 is to replace the struts, but I have replaced both of them 13 months ago. Could they have gone bad with just 10Kmiles on them? The originals lasted 120Kmiles.
- Solution at shop # 2 is to just do a wheel alignment, no need to replace the struts.

Which of these 2 solutions is the correct one?
Thanks
Alberto

Default Re: 1998 Avalon front camber adjustment

Do you know if the camber is out on the front? I don't see the struts going bad in a years time under normal driving. I have seen springs go bad and cause a pull but they didn't cause a wear issue. There's a few ways to adjust the camber if it is out. 1st is to simply loosen the bolts that attach the strut to the spindle and adjust with the slack that it allows. 2nd is you can replace the bolts. They are a shoulder bolt that is desgined to adjust the camber. I would go with alignment first cause that will give you a starting point.
