Default 2000 Avalon SubWoofer Removal

Could some one give me a few tips on removing the JBL sub woofer? I have taken the cover up, removed the brake light bulb and cover. Then I removed the 10mm bolts holding the speaker bracket. However there doesn't seem to be enough room to get the speaker and bracket up through the hole in the rear deck and definitely not enough room to remove via the trunk. I have read several threads on various sites talking about removal, replacement, and repair, but none of them have any specifics on how to facilitate removal aside from the obvious which I have already tried. Thanks for your help!
