Those don't look like test-drive spy photos. Is this car available somewhere in the world already?

With the landscape and a cannister ash receptacle sitting by the bench I'd guess it's a photo op in Southern Cal. Maybe on the grounds at Toyota Headquarters. I heard somewhere that they've been doing training and assembling preproduction Avalon's in Kentucky.

Are their any real price ranges for the Avalon available at this time? What will be the difference between the XL & the XLS?

I know this question since my parent's have an avalon and since you have one too you might as well know this aneswer ..

Xl=base level avalon trim come's pretty well standard power everything but power seat's but you get the base cloth and none of the extra add on the xls has ....

Xls= comes in standard cloth or optional leather and standard foglight's and upgraded alloy wheel's (gold package trim) fake wood trim, power everything .Nagivation system(optional) jbl sound system.Rear spolier (option)

Limited=New model


XL – easy step-up from other Toyota model, or entry to Toyota brand

2. Touring – new sporty model w/ more style

3. XLS – core model

4. Limited – new flagship ultra luxury model

215/60R16 on 16 X 6½” alloys standard on XL

2. 215/55R17 on 17 X 7” alloys on Touring, XLS, & Limited

Has anyone gotten any pricing information yet? Especially for the XLS and Limited.

Those are some nice photo's! I work at Toyota Tsusho in G-town. I'm in stamping every night and I've talked to a lot of team members who went and looked at the avalon when they displayed it at the plant and they say it is basically a Lexus. I know shutdown is a week from now so production should start on Jan. 3rd but you shouldn't see it for at least a month.

It is good to hear that Toyota will already be producing the cars when they show them in Detroit. Other manufacturers show new models, then there is a wait of 1/2 to one year before they are available.

CAT5(Central Atlantic Toyota district 5) has told all of us here thaat the Release date for the 2005 Avalon is the 17th of Feb. 2005!!!! Have just gone to the Introduction Seminar and it is a Killer Sedan!!!! It should be a LEXUS, but, it's to good for that!! 2 1/4" of additional room in the Drivers hip seating area!!
270 horses and the suspension to make it glide on the road!!! You don't drive it you fly it!!!

You really can't imagine that under it all is the Camry Frame!!

Anywho...... that's what the lastest arrival start date has been quoted at!!
