If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to siphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????
If your engine doesn't consume ANY oil it will seize???
Some people should not be allowed access to tools without books!!!

I am waiting for the new Avalon to decide if I want to wait for the 2006 Lexus 430 or not. I am in a predicament in that I have 220,000 miles on my LS400 and love it still. Worried the Avalon will feel light after driving the Lexus this long. Anyone know if the weight has been increased on the 2005 Avalon from previous years?
If you have been driving a large rear wheel drive sedan such as the LS400, the front wheel drive Avalon will feel very different - it will handle as would be expected of a front wheel drive car and will not stop as well as a more balanced rear wheel drive design. That is why the premium cars from companies such as Lexus, Infiniti, Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler (300C), and BMW are all rear wheel drive (and most have all wheel drive as an option). The only benefit offered by front wheel drive is lower cost, and that is why the new Avalon should be much less expensive than something like a new Infiniti M35/45.

That is not the only benefit FWD offers. RWD is great on dry pavement. However, IMO FWD offers better handling on both wet and icy pavement. The driver has more control in these conditons verses a RWD car. I would feel much safer driving a FWD car in wet, icy conditions vs a RWD. It was not too long ago, the mid 70s, foreign auto manufactures, (ie. SAAB), touted the benefits of FWD at a time when nearly all domestics were RWD. Now everyone has to have RWD again.
The main disadvantage that I hate with FWD is the tendency of the CV boots to fail every 40,000-70,000 miles.
hopefully a little bit cheaper vs a lexus ls430 and lower then a lexus es330..Usually the avalon is within target of a lower end es (lexus) .Look's like toyota raised the bar on this luxury sedan I showed my mom these picture during x mas and she might trade her 99 avalon on one(geez another toyota added to the ones they allready have)
Owned Toyota's in the passed. Now in the market for a new car and looking at the Avalon. I have a quote of $32750 plus tax & fees on a 04 loaded with Navi excluding a spoiler. The quote seems high to me for a year old model with a new body style coming out, what do you all think? I was thinking mid 20's plus fees or high 20's including fees.
Now that I've seen the 05, I like lines of the new body style, not square like the earlier model.

The current Avalon has been around a little longer then a year
In fact i know the avalon history well since my parents purchased a new one in 1999.
Avalon history at a glance,
1995 Toyota ventured into the full sized sedan market by offer a wider car on the Camry platform aka the name Avalon was introducted to the market by offering a 3.0 liter v6 and more space then the current camry could provide. Avalon was going to position itself as toyota's fullship sedan and many styling element's where taken from the ls400 from Lexus which is toyota bread and butter sedan with a nice pricetag to go with it .
1996=no changes from 1995 with some tweeking
1997=no changes
1998= avalon recieves new grill headlight's and mulit reflector healdights,side impact airbag's added that give it a freshing and new look..
1999= no changes
2000=new car from ground up v6 output raised and more luxury features added
2001=no changes other than minor tweeking
2002=no changes
2003=navigation system added and rear end plastic changed design wise
2004=no changes
2005=New car from ground up changes on site
The quote in avalon's price range is about the same expect a slight increase in the new body style but it's within target currently offered in the body style right now but as with any new Toyota product people will pay full mrsr on the new Avalon so it's best to wait a year when those figures go down.
My favorite large car from toyota on the price
My parent's allmost purchased a 1999 Lexus es300 and I am glad thet didn't for the same price range little bit less your getting more car for you earned dollar's vs a lexus with a designer brand name lable plus a Lexus is a Toyota let's face it I aint about to imprese anyone but myself on all the money I saved on buying a Toyota vs a Lexus .

You probably could do a little better than that, but I doubt you'll get into the 20's. Not knowing the pricing on the 05 it's hard to say for sure!
