Unhappy $550 radiator question, help please...

I just discover that my wife's 95 avalon is seeping coolant on the top of the radiator. Very small leak, but I am planning to replace it myself. I called the local dealer, and almost have a heart attack, the radiator cost $550

Would radiator from local autoparts or other OEM brand would do a fine job? i dont want to spend $550 unless I absolutely have to....

I would think that I could find a cheaper one somewhere, right? Any idea for place to buy? Is there a certain brand that I need to look for or avoid? Any comments is appreciated. I never buy a radiator for Toyota before...

if you lived in hawaii, theres a place called IFUKU radiator, exceptional fitment. they feature all metal radiators, not like the toyota type with the plastic tank ends.

look around for an aftermarket brand that features all metal. it will last longer and you will be much happier with that piece of mind.

i changed my radiator in my 89 turbo supra. i paid $247.00 in 1997. i sold my baby just last year with no probs.

You should look for CSF radiators-I sell alot of them with excellent results. They are about 1/2 of dealer price, maybe less, and fit great.

We also use CSF radiators, they are as "theyotaguy" said. Alot less expensive and they fit as well as factory. Most reputable aftermarket parts places should have them.

Check out http://www.radiators.com.

I bought one there for my Acura Integra GS-R and it only cost me $125. If they have a depot near you, they even deliver the same day. I ordered in the morning and it came in the afternoon. Installed it and had no coolant seeping ontop of the radiator since. Try them out if you're looking for OEM quality and don't want to spend a fortune. Good luck on your search!

I bought a raiator for my tundra through them. They shipped the same day, except they sold me a heavy duty aluminum one and sent me a oem plastic one. I called them and they told me: "Sorry, i dont know who sold you the heavy duty one, but we dont carry anything like that at all. If you want, you can ship it back and we can refund your money." I lost about $40 for that
