Default 2003 Avalon XLS VSC and traction control

Does anybody know if VSC and traction control are standard on the 2003 Avalon XLS? The VSC and traction control indicators in the dash are never on in my 03 XLS when the key is in the "on" position. But I do have a "Traction Off" button near the knee area under the dash. Pressing on this button does not light the "Traction Off" light in the dash like the manual says it should.

So I'm wondering if my car has VSC or traction control, is there a place I can look to find out?

Thanks.

I believe it was only available as an option.

I had it on my 2003 XLS and the light came on when I pressed the button like the manual indicated.

Thanks barbos, that makes sense, although I think it would make more sense if the traction off button is blanked out on vehicles not equiped with such feature. At first I thought the traction control malfunctioned since I bought the car used.

By the way, my car does show the "slipping" indicator light in the dash during bulb check. It's the little car on a slippery road symbol. I guess this light exits on models with and without traction control to indicate the wheels are slipping? What use to know it if you don't have traction control?

When you push the Trac off and the light comes on does it turn itself back off while driving?

Try this. Apply the emergency brake and then the brake pedal, start the vehicle and release and push the brake pedal twice then holding the pedal down again, now release and push the ebrake twice (while still holding down the normal brake) then ebrake is again applied, lastly release and push the pedal again. The VSC light should now illuminate indicating that it is disabled completely for the driving session.

Anybody have a wiring diagram handy for the brake system with the ECU connections?
