wanting 18's on my 99 avalon, anyone else?

I am looking to purchasea set of 18's for my avalon but have a few questions. The rims are 18"x 7.5 with a +42mm offset. will they work?
I went to tire rack and looked at their 18's and the offset they had was between +35 and +40mm. Will 2mm's make a difference? I don't want it to rub. I also talked to a rep at tirerack and he said that 215 45 18's are the tires that I should go with. What has anyone else put on their Avalons?

I have 245/40R18 Giovanna's with 35mm offset on my 2007 and they don't come close to rubbing. Not really a direct comparison though...

My rims are 8.5" wide btw
