Bassani cat-back exhaust

Years ago while browsing through ebay I found an auction for a Bassani exhaust. This was one of their systems that replacess the factory Y-pipe and has a dual inlet/outlet muffler. Another bonus, the seller had both split-side and split-rear tailpipe assemblies. The price was too good to pass up
Fast-forward to the present. Last Saturday I finally installed my JBA headers, today I decided to bring the exhaust with me to work. As soon as 4:30 PM came I put the Tundra on my lift and clocked out.
Sprayed all the rubber hangers with penetrant and brought out the cutoff wheel and air hammer. After 6 years of salty winters, there's no way the Y-pipe bolts were coming off with wrenches or sockets, they had to be cut off. Unbolted the band clamp connecting the Y to the stock exhaust, then took all the pieces off.
Now to the Bassani installation...
First were the inlet pipes. I used new 12mm nuts/bolts and gaskets. There are tabs welded about halfway lengthwise on both pipes, the tabs overlap each other and a nut and bolt goes through them, leave that nut and bolt loose. I did tighten the nuts and bolts at the factory cat pipe flanges.
Muffler comes next. Nice design,built-in X crossover and a perforated/louvered core. You can only install it one way since the inlets are slip-fit and outlets are ball and socket flanges. I had a coworker spread the inlet pipes apart while I slipped the muffler on. Do not tighten the clamps yet.
Next comes the over-axle outlet pipes. Slide them onto the rubber hangers first then connect them to the muffler. Tighten the ball flange hardware. The driver-side pipe is 2 pieces,I moved it around until it was at the same angle as the passenger pipe then tightened the clamp.
Now tighten the clamps at the muffler inlet.
I didn't install the tailpipes, don't really like the Bassani tips. I plan on having a muffler shop make new tailpipes for a set of tips I like.
It sounds awesome, like it a lot better than my previous Borla dual split-side. The construction of the Bassani exhaust is better. The tips are definitely nicer than the "pipe inside the tip" design my Borla had,but they're still not my style. I prefer oval tips like on the TRD exhausts. I'm definitely loosing gas mileage with this mod, been planting my foot on the gas just to hear the roar
