Transmission problems

Isit just me or is this a problem.
when coming to a stop on an incline it seems that the transmission races before finding a gear. This also happens in bumper to bumper traffic which causes the vehicle to jerk forward. Also engine seems to down shift on hilly terrain.

I have a 2010 DC with the 5.7 and it does the same thing. I am starting to get used to it, but at first it would scare the hell out of me in bumper to bumper traffic. slowing down it would as you say wind up and gear down and jerk forward. That jerk forward had me anticipating it and braking harder. Lately i have been using the stick when coming up to stopped cars and gear down myself. I know it has a braking system that is supposed to gear down as you slow down to help with braking. Just uncomfortable for me. We'll see if anyone else adds anything.
