This blog is about my search for better fuel economy for my truck. I have a 2004 Toyota Tundra Double cab with a V8 engine, four wheel drive, and a four speed automatic transmission. Of all the years the Tundra has been available it appears that the 2004 DC truck, because of its size and engine/transmission configuration, gets the worst mileage of all the Tundras. The Gross Vehicle Weight of the truck is 6600 pounds and the EPA fuel economy rating for the truck is 14 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the freeway. In all honesty these fuel economy figures are both generous and unrealistic.

I have a personal Blog with more detailed information about my testing and my findings. Detailed spreadsheets of my fuel economy and test conditions can be emailed from my email account at highwaylizard@gmail.com

Thanks for looking and ask any questions you may have.

I have tried numerous methods to attach my MPG spreadsheet but just cannot get it to work. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas please help me out as I really would like to post these numbers.

In the meantime I can email the spreadsheet as an attachment from my email account. Simply email me highwaylizard@gmail.com and I will send it as an attachment. Please put "This month's Fuel Numbers" in the subject line.

Okay, here are some mpg numbers for you. Just as a preface, I have no idea of how this thing works or why it works - but I am leaning pretty strongly towards believing that it works. It bears worth noting that the device is supposed to start working after three or four tanks. I started to see improvements with each tank.

We topped off before leaving Indianapolis at the usual gas station and the same pump I try to use all the time. I used the same procedure as I use at every fill-up....

Well, I first heard about the Fitch Fuel Catalyst from another member on the forum. Until I hear from him that it is okay to use his name he will remain anonymous. This is due to the high degree of acrid comments directed toward people such as myself who ask questions about ways to save fuel, particularly with modifications.

I found out about this device a few days before we were leaving for a two month vacation in the Keys so I had to have it overnighted to me. It arrived the next...
