MPG Numbers 6-22-2009

Posted 06-30-2009 at 11:53 PM by Highwaylizard
Filled up today:
  • 86.7 miles all city driving
  • No trailer A/C all the time
  • 5.717 gallons Shell87
  • 15.1653 MPG
  • No previous city without trailer and air conditioning to compare it to
Normally I run the truck down to at least a half a tank before fueling up. This fill-up was done in order to top the truck off prior to hitting the highway to Dunes National Park in northern Indiana. There is nothing else to report on as these numbers are right where they should be. I am still pleased...

MPG Numbers 6-21-2009

Updated 06-29-2009 at 03:20 PM by Highwaylizard
Filled up today:
  • 209.0 miles all city driving
  • Mostly trailer with A/C all the time
  • 13.809 gallons Shell87
  • 15.1351 MPG
  • 0.0156 increase in MPG since last of city driving with trailer and A/C

These numbers are really good considering the conditions under which they were generated. This is all in town driving with a trailer for more than half the miles and the air conditioning running all the time. Not only that but the truck idled quite a bit with the air conditioning...

MPG Numbers 6-20-2009

Updated 06-29-2009 at 03:21 PM by Highwaylizard
Filled up today:
  • 285.2 miles all in town driving
  • No trailer but air conditioner running all miles
  • 17.207 gallons Shell87
  • 16.5746 MPG
  • 1.7585 increase in MPG since last of in town driving

All in town without the trailer. I ran the air conditioner for all of these miles. The numbers are actually a little better than I normally get in town without the trailer and no air conditioning. The fact that I ran the air conditioner the whole time makes it a little confusing...
