A visit to the Big Apple

Posted 12-09-2007 at 05:40 PM by TundraSoul
The first week in December my wife and I paid a visit to New York city for five days. We stayed at a comfortable Sheraton hotel in Queens and used the subway train to make our way into Manhattan daily.

Our visits included the typical tourist attractions like the Empire State Building, Macy's, Rockefeller Center, NBC television, Radio City and other destinations. At any given time some 13,000 taxi cabs are on the street of New York but getting in one is another story. Everything was crowded in Manhattan. Restaurants, shows, it didn't matter where you went it was likely to be crowded.

A couple of notable places to eat include John's Pizza ($) in the village and the Sea Grill ($$$$) in Rockefeller Plaza.

After a few days we seemed to get used to the freezing cold and the crowds. At the end of the day however I found that I was just too tired to do anything extra.

Take the city sights tour, it's around $60.00 per person but you can get on and off the double decker bus as much as you like and it can visit all the areas of New York city.
