PowerSlot Rotors or EBC Ceramic Pads, what is causing the dusting?
I recently installed PowerSlot slotted rotors and EBC Ceramic brake pads. My hope was to increase stopping power, but use ceramic pads to reduce dusting on the wheels.
After about a month of use, my front wheels were BADLY dusted and looked terrible. I am not sure if it is the pads or rotors. The EBC pads have some special coating on the pad surface to help "break in" the rotors, I suppose it could be the coating that wore off quickly, but am hoping that someone has some experience with either of these products and can offer some advice. Any help is greatly appreciated.

i don't have any of what you have explained, but i have noticed that when i adjusted my rear brakes, my dusting from the front wheels were almost gone. before i adjusted my rear's, my front's would dust pretty good after only about 2 weeks. after i adjusted them, i have gotten almost no dust on my wheels. it's been about a month now. i adjust them so it clicks about 3-4 times, then it sticks.

All pads dust, some more then others. Performance pads tend to dust the worse. Slotted rotors will cause more dusting then non slotted rotors. This is what they do by nature, the slots clean the pad surface. Also expect shortened pad life with slotted rotors.
I first used EBC pads after my caliper swap and they dusted terribly, with stock rotors. I switch to Toyota pads and have very little dust. In your case I would say get rid of those pads.

Re: PowerSlot Rotors or EBC Ceramic Pads, what is causing the dusting?
Thanks for the input guys. I knew the slotted rotors would eat pads up a little quicker and also cause a little more dusting, but not like what I have have. I am going to do a rear disc brake conversion in the next month or so, and had purchased the same EBC pads for the rear discs. I am really regretting that now.
I had used Raybestos Quiet Stop pads in the past had had virtually no visible dusting. Maybe I will have to go back to the Raybestos.

I have played a fair bit with front brakes, both rotor brands and pads, the best rotors I have so far are Power Slots ( did recommended break in ) with OE pads, and as intgraGSR states, keep the rears adjusted.
