Post Please help! Brake problem

I just bought a 2000 Tundra TRD 4X4 and during the pre-purchase inspections the dealership said they replaced all the brakes and rotors including a caliper. Now my brakes are squealing when they are cold. Once they heat up the squealing stops. The dealership said the brakes were fine and there is nothing I can do about it. It’s really annoying, any ideas on why or how I can fix the noise? Any ideas would be a big help thanks

Time to ask questions! Did they use Toyota pads? Who did the work? Were the shims replaced or even reused? Was any anti squeal product used?
You would be surprised that many dealer use cheap replacement parts when servicing used vehicles. Many don't even have services like this done in their shop, they farm it out to local muffler shops or independents that will perform the work cheaper. Now they may not want to look at it since they will need to send it down the road or pay the price their own shop charges. You may need to get demanding to get this looked at.

There are many anti squeal compound that can be used on the steel back of the pads. Some are sticky sprays and some are simple graphite compounds. Toyota recommends the graphite compound, but these only work well with the original equipment two piece shims.
