BrakesDiscussions about the brake system in your vehicle and brake products.
This is a discussion thread titled "Brakes", within the Brakes forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I have the apparent crappy brakes on my truck from the factory. I purchased a set of brembo drilled and slotted rotors and top brand pads. Anyone else use the same setup? If so, how did they hold up? I don't do offroad or high speed braking , so let me know. Thanks

well I don't have those brakes but I think they should do good I seen shows they
put brakes such as that on car' truck's and they help a whole lot they should if there the best
I just put new brembo rotors on and upgrade the caliper size. Personally i really like the toyota pads...never had a problem with them. If you get a chance, read MEvangs write up on upgrading to the larger pads (if you dont already have them)...it really makes a difference.

Thanks, and thank you all! I seem to be having luck so far.

You may want to think about installing those drilled rotors. They work great on race cars, but not so great on the street.
The holes are ostensibly to dissapate heat, but in actuality they decrease the mass of the rotor which in turn decreases your braking ability. Also, rotors with holes drilled in them (as opposed to factory rotors like on a Porsche where the holes are cast; not drilled) have a tendency to crack.
If it is not too late, I'd send them back. Slotted rotors, maybe. But not drilled.
All a man really needs for happiness in this world is a good woman, a faithful dog, and a big-a$$ed set of tires on his truck.
