Do you know what brand of brake pads you have?

No but you can conceal it with black colored rims. Works with my Offroad tire/wheel package.

Right now having bare aluminum, no finish or coating on the wheels I have to clean with Mothers Polish constantly if I want em shiny and clean or to keep the Magnesium Chloride they spray on snowy/icy roads from eating its way into the Aluminum and staining/dulling the shine and luster

I'm thinking my next set of wheels are going to be the Teflon coated wheels from American Racing since I now have the Powerslot Rotors and Carbon/Kevlar brake setup. And the brake dust is pure black.

I am using factory Toyota pad with open chrome wheels I get very little brake dust. If nothing else dirties up the wheels I have to clean them maybe once a month. I say this is very expectable.
One of the many things the OEM considers when formulating their pad is dusting. Many aftermarket pad manufacture never test for this.

Talking Re: Brake Dust

Man vs Brake Dust

The battle started years ago at about the time disc brakes were invented.
Man's best chance of winning ended when the "don't use your brakes" theory proved faulty in many ways. Brake Dust has lost many battles but typically wins out because of the lack of a vaccine. A doctor would tell you to "just clean them when you can and take two of these and call me in the morning if you don't feel better." Probably best. yspert

yspert is quite right your always going to get some brake dust. I do think you can make things better by using OEM pads. Short of this, you can get dust shields to go behind your wheels.

Exclamation Re: Brake Dust

one thought: if you have a vehicle with drums in the rear,
make sure they are adjusted properly and this will take some of the
demand off of the front pads.
always remember: if you have to touch the e-brake cables to adjust
the rear shoes, then something is wrong. only adjust using the "shoe
adjuster" as it is designed.
or, you can do as i do. don't rotate the tires and you will only have
to clean two of the wheels. yspert

What kind of wheels, chrome, coated alloy, painted w/clear coat? If painted with a clear or coated alloy, use a paint sealer and a good light coat of wax once you're done cleaning off the brake dust. It will keep it from building up and should just wipe clean during your normal washing.

OK So I like the idea of Ceramic brakes; does anyone make them for an 08 Tundra DC 4X4?
