Default Brake Dust !

Granted I have only had my truck for 1 week, but has anyone else noticed an insane amount of brake dust on their front wheels? I only have 350 miles on it so far and had to clean the chrome 20's 3 times because they are covered in brake dust.

Default Re: Brake Dust !

For any wheel larger than 17", the amount of brake dust increases exponentially. I think the correct equation is: x/πr2=bda

Translated: Diameter of wheel, divided by pi R squared = Brake Dust Amount

Cheers!

Default Re: Brake Dust !

It very early to tell what Toyota has used to formulate the pads on these truck but from what I've seen they were adamant to have a much better braking system.
We have not seen any complaints here of brake dust but if it gets to be a problem you need to complain to the dealers. If feed back is heavy, most OEMs will look at the pad formula and adjust it.
