Hi,
I did a full brake upgrade on my 2000 Tundra
2000 Tundra Rear Brakes, Leaking Diff Oil?
But I noticed that now that the leak is fixed, it seems like my rear brakes drag at times. If I go on the HW and then pull over for a quick stop, I'll notice the drums are very hot and smell. And if I put it into drive on a flat surface. The car just barley holds, but does hold.
Then I'll let it sit, or drive around a little and then after a while they won't be sticking anymore.. Is it possible that I have cheap pads that expand faster then the drums? Is it possible my proporting valve is mis-adjusted and I'm putting too much strain on the rear brakes? When I come to a basica slow stop, something doesn't quite feel right, like the rears might be locking up before the fronts.
I'm wondering if when the rear brakes were leaking, they didn't know it and they adjusted the proportining valve to put more juice to the rear, thus just normal driving causes them to heat up more than normal?
Any Ideas or things to try? My Ebrake cable has slack when it isn't pressed down. I can wiggle it about an inch back and forth.
