Default 2002 sequoia VSC/ABS trac ?? associated with caliper upgrade

First post, Yes I have done all the searches for this. I have attempted all the fixes for it and realize I need to suck it up and buy the new abs ecu vsc pump.

My question is my 2002 sequioa has the caliper upgrade on it. Does this in anyway impact the computer. Should I use a newer abs/vsc pump unit? One that corresponds with the newer calipers? Would this make any difference?

I am going to get a new one but just trying to see if anyone else has any thoughts or knowledge of this. I really don't want to buy a new one and then have the same thing happen.

I asked a service guy for toyota and he said it shouldn't matter, but then what is the difference as it seems the abs/pump units are 2001-2002 compatible, 2003-2004 compatible etc.

Just wondering

Thanks
John

Piston bore sizes are the same for both calipers, so pressure clamping force is the same. The upgrade allows for a larger pad and more mass to the caliper housing. More to do with heat distribution then anything else. I would say go with the ABS controler for your vehicle.

Thanks for the input. I will be getting the part in the next couple of weeks and putting it in. Will see how it goes. Hopefully the last time I have to do it.

I was just trying to make sure that I don't have the same problem in the future.
