Default brake drum quality

I am going to replace my brake drums and shoes on my 00 Tundra and was wondering what brand you all used. I saw a few brands like PBR, Brembro, Beck Arnley, and Duralast. These all range between $40-$60 per drum. If I buy these brands, I can save at least $100 off of the OEM, easy.

Have any of you tried these other brands? any feedback?

Thanks

What you are looking for is a drum that is specced like the upgraded OEM drums, i.e. heavier with thicker walls. I'm not sure what brands have drums that meet these specs. Mike (MEvang) might have a handle on it...

You got it in a nutshell Duffy. I wonder if it may as simple as requesting part info for an 03. I believe that is when the thicker drums became standard issue ?

Toyota has issued a new part number updating the older drums to a new spec with a heaver thicker outside wall. There is no way to know if any aftermarket manufacture is following Toyota's specs to a tee without comparing these drums to the OEM stuff. I suggest if your set on aftermarket drums, to purchase their drum for the latter models as all drums are interchangeable up till rear discs appeared in '07.
