i am a mechanic and at our shop we only work on import vehicles, and when we do brakes which we do alot of, the only brakesw we use are the carbon ceramic wagner thermo quiets. in my opinion, they are the best pads out there. no noise, no brake dust, and they work better than any other pad out there that i have seen and they are very reasonably well. i have a 08 tundra crew max that i am about to put the carbon ceramic wagners in, i am just waiting for my slotted rotors to show up so i can put them in. hope this helps.

I'll have to agree with the gentleman above me. We've had great reviews from folks using ceramic pads. They are quieter, less dust (as well as dust less likely to stick to your rims) than metallic pads and and produce less heat.

We carry Monroe Ceramics, check out the results for your vehicle on our site - Brake Pads, Brake Rotors - Brakepad Warehouse.

The ceramics start with CX in the part number.

Hope that helps and I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.

If your happy with the life and performance of the OEM pads I suggest you go back with Toyota pads. Most OEM manufacture have been using ceramic materials for some time now. Plus you can be assured that the proper formulation is used for your vehicle.

Are the stock pads on the 07 + models made from ceramic? Also has anybody changed to slotted rotors, did this help eliminate the rotor warpage my tundra seems to acquire every year? i tow a large trailer and i am sure this adds to the warpage even though my trailer brakes to work well.

That I am not for sure. I can't find any literature about it either. Ceramics do cause less dust than metallic though. They also don't get as hot.

It is my understanding that 2nd gen oem pads are ceramic. I've read this on a # of threads on this site.
