2001 Sequoia LTD - Front Driver's side caliper constantly leaking fluid
Hi all,
First, this is not my vehicle, but a friend's that I'm working on. It's a 2001 Sequoia Limited which appears to have had the TSB work done on it already. When I went to change the pads out for them yesterday, they had the smaller pads so we had to go to the local O'Reilly and swap them for the larger pads. All went well after that until we went to bleed the brakes. Passenger side went fine, and then on the driver's side, I got a little overindulgent when tightening the bleeder valve and it snapped. It appears to have snapped closed, as there is nothing leaking out of the bleeder area, but now fluid is constantly leaking out of the seam between the two halves of the caliper.
I noticed that it appears there should be a seal of some time between the two, but there wasn't one when I started (that I remember), and there isn't one now.
So, the questions:
1. Is there supposed to be some kind of gasket/seal where the fluid pumps between the two halves of the calipers?
2. If so, what size is it?
3. If not, any ideas what would be causing it to leak profusely? Is it possible the overtightened bleeder has caused the calipers to have too much pressure?
Any help you could give would be great! I'd like to fix this without having to replace the caliper, as none of the shops in the area carry the larger caliper in stock (13W, I believe).
