Default Rear brakes missing parts from factory

I am the original owner of a 2006 Tundra DC. 39K miles out of warranty. After doing a rear brake inspection I noticed that the parking brake bell crank was siezed so I decided to repair the bell crank using the procedure posted here & clean & lubricate at the same time
When I removed the drum I noticed that the "automatic adjusting lever" is not there. The parking brake lever is there BUT the auto adjust lever is not. This is the same on both sides. Is this normal??
This is the first time that I have removed the rear drums.
What do I do now?? Purchase the part & install it so that it adjusts the brakes when I use the parking brake. OR manually adjust the rear brakes several times per year??
I'll go to my local dealer & see what they say But I don't expect a good response
