Default Groupbuy? Stpotech BIGbrakes and r/disc conversion

I have ballpark prices of $1900 for the Stoptech Big Brake kit, and $650 for a Tundra rear disc conversion kit. The guy said he'd be willing to talk about a group buy so if anybody is interested, lets talk about it. Thanks, gavin

hey gavin,

before you mention the words "group buy", how about some details on the kits? the stoptech big brake kit is the same as the trd big brake kit, yes or no? who makes the parts for the rear disc conversion, and what's the availability of spare parts--are they oem parts, aftermarket parts, or one-off parts?

i'd be interested in the new brakes.

yes, stoptech makes the trd big brake kits. the trd kit has a 13" slotted rotor with a first-gen st-40 caliper design. stoptech kits come in either 13" or 14", slotted or drilled rotors. recent stoptech kits also have a second-gen st-40 caliper design. http://www.stoptech.com/press_releas...st-40_gen2.htm

fuzzeewuzz, is the $1900 quote for the 13" size? because i would like to get the 14" version. my tundra seems to have rear bias braking.

Will it be cheaper to convert to 4Runner's 338mm front brakes than Stoptech's 13"?

Does the front disc mod require larger rims/tires to clear, e.g., as with TRD?
