Default Rattle in right front after front brake TSB

I have a rattle coming from the right front that is only noticeable when going slow. I noticed it after I had the major front brake TSB done. It was not very noticeable at first but it seem to be getting louder. It has been over a year since I had the work done and I can only hear it when I have the windows rolled up. Has anyone else noticed this or had it and know what it is?

Mitch

More than likely your brake pads rattling in the calipers. Reach under and especially the inside pad, try to rattle it by hand. Odds are this is the noise. Mine will even "clank" if I tap the brake pedal in reverse.

It's possible, but I have never heard of a brake pad that would rattle this much. I know what you are talking about with the pad shifting when you go from driving forward and then shift to reverse and hit the brakes and the pad will move a little. This sound is either suspension related or maybe the metal shield around the rotor could be the culprit.

I hadn't heard of a pad rattle that much either until now. But the rattle worried me enough to find it and lo and behold it was the pad. Check it out, I was surprised a pad would make that much noise.

if the original retainer spring (little m-shaped thing, front of caliper) was reused, a new one might minimize the rattle...otherwise, cant think of any reason to worry about it other than noise...

Definitely, the brakes work just fine. Noise/rattle is just a small annoyance. A good CD in the stereo makes that go away.

Wouldn't the new calipers have a new different spring?
