Tried to do the new rotor pad install this morning....the pins that hold the pads in the callipers are so stuck.......I lubed, banged, pushed , and shoved........they are solid......(love the directions on this site, "just slide them right out") ........Do I drill them out and buy new ones?? Someone must have had this problem........Rats! Sped

I posted that warning and that is what I ended up doing with one of 4 pins. I cut it flush with the caliper, hit it with a center punch and drilled it as straight as I could. I started with a really small bit and worked my way up. The pin hole in the caliper isn't perfect any more, on the outside. The inner diameter is fine. Was finally able to punch out the remainder of the pin. Put in new pins with anit-seize and will re-apply every time I rotate my tires.

Before you go cutting, have you tried a penetrant such as PB Blaster or Rust Eater? Spray from all angles and let sit overnight and try. Maybe spray them 2 or 3 times. I would try that first.

I've got the PB Blaster and I'm soaking them down with high hopes of a succesful and easy removal of the pins this weekend....thanks all for the input.....Sped
yea thats why when u replace the pads u need to make sure to lube the hell out of those pins, lots of shops just slap the pads in and dont lub up anything, ive ran into quite a fiew problems b.c of no lubing
