I will try to do it tomorrow - which angle should I take the picture so you can tell?
I've had both setup's on Tundras so I know a lot more on this topic.
If i recall ray if your calipers have the word's "LS" Stamped on it this is informing you have the older setup I'll check my 2004 Tundra to make sure I am correct since it's been a wile . I think aug 03 is when Toyota upgraded this part because My older 2000 Tundra received this update in Sept 03 and it did make a vast change in wear patterns ..
ray check this post out and yes i am correct sept 03 was the date on the tsb. If you require any other infomation on this Topic you welcome to Pm since I've dealt with this issue from Toyota Motor sales
Hello.
It has been a little over 3 months since I had the TSB. Semi-loaded capilers 2 New Toyota factory Brake Lines 2 New Brembo Rotors (the old ones were not that bad, a little warped) New Bendix C pads Shim kit New Bolts for Capilers. I have had a brake noise since last Nov. So far the feel on the TSB upgrade is great. Better brakeing power, cut out the varibation I was feeling also over 45mph, no more varibation and NO BRAKE NOISE. The cost of the upgrade was worth it. However, my new capilers are already rusted over, but it is so worth it to have no noise and better brakeing on your truck. I guess I have put a little over 2500 miles so far. Great.
2001 2WD Tundra V8
The coatings on Remanufacture calipers is crap. Most rust over very quickly. About a month after I did the upgrade I painted mine with one of those caliper painting kits. This has held up very well, you can do it without removing anything besides the wheels and the look through the wheels is great.
I plan on using the paint on our new Tucson as soon as my garage is freed up, just to protect the calipers.
As far as the upgrade, I have to agree, just what the doctor ordered!

Did you use a standard color, or to match the paint on the truck. Yes, it was rusted over in a little under a month. However, it is not that. But I do plan to give it some paint so it looks better.
Thanks for the advice.
Hey, if anyone wants to get rid of there old brake calipers, shoot me a pm. I want a pair for my brakes on my 4 runner. Thanks!

I was looking at buying some salvage calipers and rotors to upgrade the brakes on my 2001. Anyone know if the 2006 Tundra used these same new calipers per the TSB?
Yes this is the calipers that used up to the new '07's

Thanks for the quick response! After doing some reading, it seems the rotors were not changed(?). So it seems I can still use my old rotors(?). Hoping you could verify that. Thanks again.
Yea the rotors are the same. Check the beginning of this thread. There is a complete list of what you need. I trimmed the backing plates instead of replacing them as this is a lot of unnecessary work that can cause more problem then it's worth.

First as I understand it the Tundra brake upgrade will work on the early Sequoia. Check which caliper you have to verify.
As far as EBC rotors, I recommend staying away from any drilled rotors. This removes mass from the disc and on a vehical that already has too small of a rotor this is not something you want. Drilling and slotting is for racing applications and serves little purpose on a street vehicle. Don't waste your money buy a good brand like Brembo or Rabestos.
