Default Help with brake pad pins...

How do I remove the brake pad pins? I could not pull the brake pad pins out. I also tried hammering them out and still no go, they seem stuck. I used penetrating fluid, still a no go. Is there a special tool to use? I cannot see any mention of one anywhere though. BTW, I did remove the retaining spring, but te pins still do not 'slide' out as the manual seems to indicate.

I replaced the rotors just fine but I cannot get the old pads out to put the new pads in. I'm at my wits end.

When you get to this point, your only recourse is to remove the caliper(s) so that you can work on them on a bench. What I did was to cut the pins off using a Sawzall with a hacksaw-type blade, then drill the pins out. If you cut the pins off close to the caliper it makes it easier (not that any of this is easy). Exercise care when drilling so as to not damage the caliper. I drilled them, then punched out the remainder of the pins. They gall to the caliper so completely that in some cases I had to ream the remainder of the pin away from the caliper body.

Buy the new pins from the dealer, since they're the only ones that fit right, and use a bit of anti-seize paste on them to hopefully prevent this in the future.

I had the same problem after replacing my first set of pads after 80K miles here in Massachusetts.

I used Mopar rust penetrant and applied it carefully 3 times during the week after work, making sure not to get any on the rubberized portion of the piston in the caliper (don't know if its corrosive on rubber, but didn't want to take a chance). After each application, I'd bang the pins a little with a hammer and applied some more penetrant 10 minutes later.

At the end of the week, I was able to cut the pins and bang them out without resorting to drilling after removing the caliper.

Yes, the only thing to do is to cut it and go to your dealer buy some new one.
I do put anti size twice a year when I change my tire so it won't grip again,,,,

(If) you can apply heat without burning things up and let it cool the expansion and contraction will allow them to come free. However beating on em with hammer has possibly mushroomed em already and sawzall or jigsaw is only recourse.
goodluck
ps
use gold antisieze on new pins to prevent from happening again.
