Well after 2 months of complaining, arguing and waiting for parts and tools to come in and having to drop my truck off overnight 5 TIMES!!! They finally did the TSB on my front brakes. Man what a difference from the old ones. $1780.74 and a short argument with the service manager about this being covered under warranty and I was on my way. All I can say is persistence pays. Don't give up and don't take no for an answer. Good luck to the others out there who might have to endure an ignorant and obstinate Toyota service department.
Thanks again to Andy and all the others who helped me through this with there wonderful insight and information.
I don't know how anyone else feels, but I feel that Toyota should be changing out all "Old Style" Calibers and pads with the new ones....free of charge....regardless of mileage.

I agree... but you'll never see it happen

I think its just as much a dealer thing as a TMC issue. I took my 94 truck in with 60,000 miles for the V6 head gasket issue. I was the second owner and no extended warranty. I had all the maintencne receipts and the dealer didn't even look those. He just verified that it had not already been done (he could tell by just looking). He apologized, said he would need the vehicle overnight, took me down the hall where they set me up with a rental. All this on a truck that had out of state plates.

I had my head gesket recall done on my 1991 about 2 years ago, with about 200,000 on the odometer. I ended up paying for the valves to be resurfaced by a machine shop, but had no costs associated with the labor or parts from Toyota.
Just got the brake TSB done. The tech that worked on my tundra was the same guy that worked on my friend's as well. Plus he also did the same on his own tundra. The look of the new calipers seem to equal something out of a big brake kit. Anyhow, it was job well done. The control arms had little nicks on it, perhaps because of the SST that they were using but nothing to cry about. As far as performance, the day I drove mine back from the dealer, the pedal felt a little spongy. However, now the feel seems to have gotten better and the pedal feels firmer now. The brakes seem to engage w/o much effort, it stops like a brand new vehicle. I'm pretty satisfied with this TSB and the worked performed by the tech. TSB was performed by Findlay Toyota - Las Vegas, NV.
Has anyone had problems with excesive brake ware on four wheel drive Tundras. I am about to change front brakes for the second time in 26000 miles. I had two dealers tell me it was caused by driving my TRD off road "OFF ROAD!"
My 2 bros and all all had the TSB done within the past 60 days and so far all of us agree that the major wobble is gone. Whether it stays gone, who knows, but it seems a lot better so far.
The two Brake TSB's I mentioned seemed to have by far, put the
best brakes on My LilRed1 She has ever had since new. I put a little over 800 mi. on her this week (breaking in the new braking sys.) on My way to & from work; also I was well pleased and they are getting better each day.
I bought my 00 new and have had 1 problem w/ my brakes. the parking break light stays on most of the time. When it does go off it will come back on when i slow down or i push on the brakes. I did have it undercoated/sound proofed after a new exhaust system. I think this to be the problem but it is yet to be looked at. If i use the parking brake thelight will stay off for a while. The only vibration i ever got was when i pull a heavy load.
