OK...I have a 06 Tundra Waltrip with about 5K. My front wheels are noticeable darker looking from all the brake dust after cleaning them every other day!
I need to get some pads that produce no dust and have been reading up on the ceramic pads. Also have seen some Axxis dustfree pads as well
Anyone have any experience with them or have another brand/type?
Im just kinda at a lost here as too what I should do
i have been using ceramics on everything ive owned for a while now(not yet on my prerunner, but i will as soon as stock is worn out!). to me, ceramics are the way to go, as i have better pedal feel usually, much less brake dust, and they stay pretty quiet. check out hawks web site, as they have some some really good ceramic pads available. if price is a concern for you, ive also had good luck with raybestos, and also the ceramic pads from autozone!
Installed the Wagner Thermo-Quiet Ceramic pads and they are great so far. No noise at all, very easy install on 06 tundra...toyota designed the front brakes great!
Drove about 20 miles this morning with no brake dust....WOOHOO!!! Very happy with the results...performance is the same as stock pads, definately not any worse
could you tell any difference in pedal feel with the wagners?? not sure of the pedal feel on the tundras, but alot of people are complaining bout the feel on our new tacomas, but its not real bad as far as im concerned! ill probably do a flush and put in new brake fluid when i do my pads. i can feel the "mushy" pedal, but its not all that bad to me.
Nope...still feels the same to me so far...I have driven about 75 miles since yesterday and not one spec of dust on my wheels at all!!! It's a miracle
I took my truck in for a the recall....Bill Kidd's Toyota in Timonium, MD is by far the best dealer in the area. The fixed my wheel balance issue (took them 4x) but they did it...very very pleased with there work
On that note....never ever ever take your vehicle to Jones Junction in Fallston, MD. Worst customer service, terrible mechanics too.

yeah, nothing worse than a bad dealership!! if you are ever in rock hill,sc......stay away from harrelson toyota....bad customer service, and the service managers, just from talking to them, dont know half of what they are talking about!!
Dusting can vary from one pad formula to another. My experience with ceramic pads is just the opposite but I used a brand not listed here. The fact is all pads dust, the formula, dring habbits and the weather can effect how much lands on the wheels. Let along the type of wheels as some will show the dust more then others.
I have chrome AR wheels that are very open and they show dust bad. The factory pads have been the best compromise on low dust and good performance for me.
Now if you want no dusting at all, buy some wheel shields. There are the black disc that go behind the wheels. This is the only way to completely eliminate it.

OK I haven't noticed any difference in stopping power....if I have to replace a little more than usual...Im fine with that since it only takes about 20 minutes
how do i determine what pads to get? I want the wagners, but the guy at oreily
said that there are 3 different casting numbers for the caliper and the wagners
only fit one of the 3. where is the casting number located?
thanks chris
